Wilda Marie Piland, 75, of Piggott, Arkansas, passed away Thursday, May 30, 2013, in St. Bernards Medical Center in Jonesboro, Arkansas.

She was born on March 7, 1938, in Clay County, Arkansas, and was the daughter of the late Willie Porter and Effie Mae Hanners Williams.

She was united in marriage to Harold Piland on March 12, 1955, and to this union two sons were born.

Marie was a longtime member of the First General Baptist Church in Piggott, Arkansas.

She was preceded in death by four brothers: Marlin Williams, Willard Williams, Buel Williams, Wink Williams; and three sisters: Letha Read, Roberta Williams, and Freda Hardin

She is survived by her husband, Harold; sons Steve Piland and wife Debbie of Piggott, Arkansas, and Stan Piland and wife Nola of Collierville, Tennessee; three grandchildren: Tina Gummalauski and husband Steve of Piggott, Arkansas, and Makailey and Myles Piland, both of Collierville, Tennessee; three great-grandchildren: Wil Whaley, Brady Whaley, and Anthony Gummalauski; one great-great-granddaughter, Hera Whaley; two sisters: Marcella Sweeten of Silex, Missouri, and Carol Grider and husband Jerry of Piggott, Arkansas; and many nieces and nephews and other relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, June 1, 2013, at 10:00 a.m. at the First General Baptist Church in Piggott, Arkansas, with Chris Brantley and Jeremy Pierce officiating. Burial is in Piggott Cemetery in Piggott, Arkansas. Hoggard & Sons Funeral Home of Piggott, Arkansas, is in charge of the arrangements. Visitation begins at 6:00 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
