Piggott High FBLA Members Prepare for Nationals
Even though it's summer, Piggott High School FBLA members are working hard to prepare for their upcoming national competition in Anaheim, Calif. Eight members will represent the Piggott community as well as the state of Arkansas at the conference to be held the last week in June. The students have met multiple times since their award-winning state competition to strengthen their presentations so they can be competitive at the national level.
"I'm very proud of how diligent and committed these students have been," adviser Stacey Peters said. "From experience, I know how competitive the students from all over the United States can be when it comes down to the national level. I know we have the dedication to pull this off."
The local students, and their parents, are holding a road block from 10 a.m. to noon this Saturday, June 15, at the four-way-stop in Piggott to collect donations to help with their travel expenses.
Peters encouraged local residents to donate, and to feel free to stop and ask the students for more information regarding the local FBLA chapter. "You can even give us ideas for future community service projects," she added. "But, please show these students they have the support of the entire Piggott community by visiting their road block and making a donation."
