Mallory Wright

Lady Mohawk standout Mallory Wright will be playing in the 2013 Arkansas High School Coaches Association All Star Volleyball Game at 7 p.m. Wednesday, June 19. Wright will play for the east squad, and longtime Lady Mohawk volleyball coach Melissa Williams has the honor of serving as an assistant coach for the squad.

The east all stars are coached by Vicki Gatewood of Nettleton, and joining Williams on the coaching staff are Craig Cummings of the Jonesboro Lady Hurricane and Cade Smith of Central Arkansas Christian at North Little Rock.

Also on the roster with Wright are regional standouts Ali Thomas and Lexi Belew of Nettleton, Madison Laubach of Greene County Tech and Keely Caldwell of Valley View. Rounding out the roster are Peyton Hamilton of Fort Smith Southside, Myeekadra Johnson of North Little Rock, Shannon Hocker of Russellville, Zane Carter of Marion, Abby Mollenhouse of Mt. Home, Jayme Shell of Batesville, Markie Schaedig of Little Rock Christian and Emily Giboney of Harding Academy.

Wright, the daughter of Gary and Sherri Wright of Piggott, was a two time All-State selection for the Tribe and was selected to the All State Tournament team her junior season. Her appearance at Conway also marks the second year in a row a member of the family has taken part in the All Star game, as older sister Breanna played in the 2012 contest in historic Barnhill Arena on the U of A campus. Breanna continued her volleyball career, and education, at Hendrix College in Conway. As for Mallory, she'll also continue both her education and volleyball career in the fall as she has signed to attend Williams Baptist at Walnut Ridge.
