John L. Haddon
John L Haddon, 87 of Caruthersville, passed from this life on Friday, June 14, 2013, at the Pemiscot Memorial Hospital in Hayti. John was born on May 24, 1926, in Greenway, Ark., to the late Lex and Ruth (McCumber) Haddon. He was a member of the Wrights Chapel Methodist Church in Piggott where he served faithfully until his health wouldn't allow him. John was also a WWII Army veteran where he received a Purple Heart, and was united in marriage on Feb. 20, 1954, in Piggott to Dorothy Dean Adams Haddon.
John was preceded in death by his parents; one brother: Jimmy Haddon; and three sisters: Reva Mae Lausis, Oleta Wyss, and Dorothy McCord.
Mr. Haddon is survived by his loving wife Dorothy Dean Haddon of the home; four sons, Roy, Garry, John Jr., and Guy; one daughter, Connie Westphal; one brother, Donald Haddon of Mountain Home, Ark.; one sister, Margie Lorea of Roseville, Calif.; eight grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren, along with a host of other relatives and friends.
Visitation was held on Tuesday, June 18, 2013, at the Irby Funeral Home Chapel in Rector. Funeral Services followed the visitation at the Chapel in Rector. Interment was at Woodland Heights Cemetery in Rector.
