Bert Lee Watson, Jr.
Bert Lee Watson, Jr., 83, of Piggott, Arkansas, passed away July 1, 2013, at Twin Lakes Nursing and Rehab Center in Flippin, Ark.
He was born March 23, 1930, in Pollard, Ark., and was the son of the late Bert Watson Sr. and Clara (Allen) Watson.
He was united in marriage to Elizabeth "Betty" Ann Hogard on July 6, 1949.
He worked 28 years for the City of Piggott Street Department.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Betty Watson; his daughter, Marcia Ann Rogers; and brothers: William Otis "Bill" Watson, Doyle Allen "Ken" Watson and James Franklin "Fat" Watson.
He is survived by his son, Bert Lee Watson III and wife Sherry of Flippin, Ark.; granddaughter Wendy Robinett and husband Boyd; grandsons: Matthew Watson and wife Melissa, Daniel Watson and wife Janaca, and Adam Watson and fiancÚ Jennifer; great-grandchildren: Madison, Emma and Reese Robinett, Neeley and Anna Watson, Dane Robinson and baby Lyndan Jolee; brothers: John Watson and Leon "Pete" Watson; sisters: Myrtle Satterfield, Neva Hopper, Shirley Satterfield and Shelba Lewis; sister-in-law Linda Dees; brother-in-law Ethridge Dees and a host of other relatives and friends.
Services were held at 2 p.m. Saturday, July 6, 2013 in the Hoggard and Sons Chapel with Rev. Danny Hutcherson, Rev. Matt Watson and Rev. Loy Culver officiating. Burial was in the Piggott Cemetery. Visitation was held beginning at 11 a.m. Saturday until service time. Pallbearers were: Boyd Robinett, Reese Robinett, Daniel Watson, Adam Watson, Mark Dees and Doug Hinton. Hoggard and Sons Funeral Home of Piggott, Ark. was in charge of the arrangements.
