Annual St. Francis Picnic Held
A steady breeze helped curb high temperatures while evening storms came close, yet veered off course during the annual St. Francis Picnic Saturday. Hundreds of visitors and participants joined dozens of volunteers at the picnic grounds for the annual celebration, supporting the continued upkeep and maintenance of the Hall and Gravel Hill Cemeteries.
The day provided a number of events for those in attendance, including the traditional pageants, live entertainment from Patrick Patterson and The Band, as well as other local entertainers in addition to numerous games and the popular benefit auction.
The picnic concluded with the crowning of Emily Hope, the 18-year-old daughter of Chuck and Dina Hope of Piggott, as Miss St. Francis 2013. First alternate is Sadie Sawyers, the 15-year-old daughter of Chuck and Rachel Sawyers of Piggott. Sydney Tarno, the 17-year-old daughter of Ashley Pollard and Chris Tarno of Piggott, is second alternate. Third alternate is Rianna Holloway, the 15-year-old daughter of Rickie and Angel Holloway of Campbell. Malary Farmer, the 14-year-old daughter of Stephen and Jennifer Farmer of Campbell, is fourth alternate.
Several young contestants were crowned during the day's earlier pageants.
Maybree Bliss Steward, the 11-month-old daughter of Kyle and Brooke Steward of Holcomb, was crowned Baby Miss St. Francis. First alternate is Josey Johnson, the five-month-old daughter of Josh and Holly Johnson of Qulin. Second alternate is Dixie Britton, the 11-month-old daughter of John and Leanna Britton of Warren.
Bryant Allen Smart, the seven-week-old son of Richard and Amanda Smart of Little Rock, was crowned Baby Mr. St. Francis. First alternate is Kannon River Hicks, the nine-month-old son of Josh Hicks and Sarah Fannin of Piggott.
Tiny Miss St. Francis is McKinley Laine Tucker, the 13-month-old daughter of Matt and Beth Tucker of Searcy. Laney Benson, the 13-month-old daughter of Landon and Hayley Benson of Qulin, is first alternate. Second alternate is Jheri Dahn Shane, the 16-month-old daughter of Dusty and Whitney Skaggs of Piggott.
Tiny Mr. St. Francis is Jaylan Branson, the 19-month-old son of Rachel and Adam Branson of Rector. Carson McKinney, the 23-month-old son of Shayna Duffy and Cody McKinney of Piggott, is first alternate. Second alternate is Levi Midkiff, the 21-month-old son of Aaron and Ashley Midkiff of Piggott.
Olivia Rebstock, the four-year-old daughter of Tiffany and Matt Rebstock of Holcomb, was crowned Young Little Miss St. Francis. First alternate is Kennedy, the two-year-old daughter of Chris Henfling and Trista Beltz of Campbell. Second alternate is Landry Benson, the three-year-old daughter of Landon and Hayley Benson of Qulin.
Molly Grace Vangilder, the five-year-old daughter of Callie and Aaron Harmon of Rector, was crowned Little Miss St. Francis. First alternate is Lily Acree, the five-year-old daughter of Cynthia Cree and Brett and Teri Acree of Poplar Bluff. Second alternate is Ella Lemings, the five-year-old daughter of Spencer and Kari Lemings of Gideon, Mo. Aliyah Ruiz, the eight-year-old daughter of Chuck Hearn and Verita Hearn of St. Francis, is third alternate. Karter Webb, the seven-year-old daughter of Matt and Andrea Yount and Bryce Webb of Pollard, is fourth alternate.
Natalie Jade Holloway, the nine-year-old daughter of Rickie and Angel Holloway of Campbell, was crowned Junior Miss St. Francis. First alternate is Kaitlin Williams, the 10-year-old daughter of Sam and Melissa Williams of Piggott. Madison Blair Steward, the 12-year-old daughter of Kyle and Brooke Steward of Holcomb, is second alternate. Third alternate is Jacy Featherston, the 10-year-old daughter of Sara Wellman and Jeremy Featherston of Piggott. Fourth alternate is Madison Reeves, the 10-year-old daughter of Kevin and Samantha Reeves of Piggott.
The picnic provided many who attended with the opportunity to visit with old friends and family, while supporting the worthy cause of raising funds for the Hall and Gravel Hill Cemeteries.
