Charles Irl Collier
Charles Irl Collier, 70, of Paragould, formerly of Marmaduke, passed away Aug. 30, 2013, at the Arkansas Methodist Hospital. He was born June 17, 1943, to the late Shelby and Anna Belle (Adkison) Collier. He was a Master of Education, a teacher of Marmaduke High School for 40 years, a President of the Greene County Teachers Association, an Elder of Marmaduke Church of Christ, a member of the Lions Club, he was on the Greene County Museum Board and he served in Germany as a medic and then retired out of the National Guard.
Preceding Charles in death was his parents; and his loving wife: Leda (Henson) Collier.
Charles is survived by two daughters, Cindy Collier Lovell and husband Steve and Mandy Collier Mansdoerfer and husband Brian; one brother, Allen Ray and Gena Collier of Grand Prairie, Texas; two sisters, Dortha Kay Collier and Linda Faye Collier, both of Paragould; four grandchildren, Winnie Lovell, Emma Lovell, Maggie Mansdoerfer and Libby Mansdoerfer and his very special friend, confidant and tireless caregiver, Susan Smoot Crafton, along with a host of other relatives and friends.
Visitation will be held from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 3, 2013, at the Irby Funeral Home Chapel in Marmaduke. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 4, 2013, at the Irby Funeral Home Chapel in Marmaduke with Art Smith and Arvil Hill officiating. Interment will follow the service at Harvey's Chapel Cemetery in Marmaduke.
