Piggott Chamber Banquet is Set
The annual Piggott Area Chamber of Commerce banquet and membership meeting is set for 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 15 and the deadline for purchasing tickets is this week. Tickets must be purchased by the end of business on Friday, Oct. 4 and are $22 each for both members and non-members.
This year's banquet will also be a bit different, as a variety of awards and recognition will be handed out. "We're excited this year to have the opportunity to recognize and celebrate the accomplishments of our businesses and community leaders with an awards ceremony," noted chamber secretary Jan Glover. "Nomination forms were sent out to members earlier this year and we'll be announcing the winners."
Some of the awards and categories include--"You Made it Happen", "Service with a Smile" and "A Taste of Piggott." The organization will also single-out individuals with recognition for the outstanding volunteer, educator, farmer and emergency personnel worker of the year award.
Another returning favorite is the annual table decorating contest, and this year's theme is "Strut Your Stuff."
"We encourage everyone to decorate a table to promote their business, or just Piggott in general," Glover added. "We'll be giving out prizes in several categories, including for most creative, most elegant, the judge's favorite for the "Wow" factor and a visitor's choice award."
Glover also noted the silent auction should be a big success this year, thanks to the efforts of local businesses and individuals who provided the items. "Come out and enjoy the fun, and take advantage of some great deals," she surmised.
