Piggott RC Modelers Host Fall Fly-In

Flyers wait their turn at an earlier fly-in at Piggott's Pfeiffer Field.

The Piggott R/C Modelers are hosting a fall Fun-Fly and Air Show Saturday and Sunday, Oct. 12 and 13. The event will be held at Pfeiffer Field, the local R/C park, located one mile east of the municipal swimming pool. In the event of a rainout, the fly-in will be held at the Piggott Municipal Airport on U.S. Highway 62 East. There is no charge for spectators, and the public is welcome.

The R/C event will be held beginning at 10 a.m. each of the two days, and will continue until dusk. Saturday night will also feature night flying by several of the participants.

The public is invited to attend as pilots from several states will be flying radio control airplanes and helicopters. Organizers note the show features something for both the young, and the young at heart, but should be an extra special treat for the kids and encouraged them to attend.

"We'll have scale planes from the past flying scale maneuvers, this is great free entertainment," noted club spokesman Myron Low. "The detail and size of these planes will simply amaze you--and the pilot skills will thrill you"

Concessions will be available on the grounds, and many of the participants will have planes for sale or trade during the event.

Those wanting more information may contact Low at 870 598-7106.
