Friday Night Football Preview, Week 6

Friday, October 11, 2013
The Piggott Peewee football season wrapped-up Tuesday, Oct. 8. In an exciting finale' the third and fourth grade black team kept their perfect record intact.

The Piggott Mohawks (1-3-1/1-1) are on the road Friday, Oct. 11 and once again face a tough conference foe from the Delta. Last week the Tribe dropped a tough one at Earle by a final of 42-8, although they returned home knowing it should have been a much tighter contest.

This week they visit the Osceola Seminole (2-3/1-1), who are coming off a 42-18 win over Harrisburg.

Kickoff is set for 7 p.m. at the field in Osceola, which is located behind the high school. The location is best accessed by exiting Interstate 55 at State Highway 140 and turning east (left) for just shy of two miles to County Road 503. Turn left and the high school is located a half mile north. To access the main parking lot turn right on State Highway 119 and the entrance will be on your left.

In other action this week-conference leading Hoxie (5-0/2-0) hosts Earle (3-2/2-0) after beating Rivercrest last week 21-14.

Meanwhile, the Colts (2-3/1-1) visit Corning (1-4/1-1) for the Bobcat's homecoming contest.

The good news for the remaining two conference members, Harrisburg and Manila, is the fact one of them will get a win tonight as they both stand at 0-5/0-2 on the season. As mentioned earlier, Harrisburg fell 42-18 to a tough Osceola team while Manila was shut-out at Corning 44-0 last week.
