Flora Holland, 96, of Corning, Ark., died Sunday, October 13, 2013 at Rector Nursing and Rehab Center in Rector, Ark. She was born March 4, 1917 in Newton, Kan., to Jacob and Clara Spicer.
She married Raymond Holland on Jan. 15, 1955 and he preceded her in death on Oct. 2, 1992. She was also preceded in death by her parents, a daughter, Shirley Dean Smith; a brother, Andrew Spicer; a sister, Anna Woods and a niece, Glenda Rouse.
During her lifetime she worked as an assembly worker, sales clerk and in farming.
She was a member of the Church of Christ of Corning, and enjoyed yard work and quilting.
Survivors include one granddaughter, Tonie Smith of Palm Harbor, Fla. and two nieces, Elga McDonald of Corning and Barbara Lunsford of Ash Flat, Ark.
Funeral services were held at 1 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 16 in the Ermert Funeral Home Chapel in Corning with Bro. Ken Roden officiating. Burial followed in the Salem Cemetery near Boydsville, with Ermert Funeral Home of Corning in charge of the arrangements. Visitation was held from noon to 1 p.m. Wednesday, prior to the services, at the funeral home.
