Former Rector Superintendent Larry French dies at 72

Larry French, former superintendent of Rector Public Schools, died Thursday, Oct. 17, at the Willard Walker Hospice House in Fayetteville at age 72.

French, a 1958 graduate of Rector High School, earned a Master's degree from Arkansas State University at Jonesboro and spent most of his career as an educator and administrator in both Arkansas and Missouri.

During his years with the Rector School District, he also served as the agriculture teacher and later as elementary principal before becoming superintendent. He also worked for a time as general manager of Glen Sain Motors Sales in Rector.

He and his wife, Ann, lived for a time in Kennett before retiring to Fayetteville to be nearer to family.
