Piggott Chamber Hosting Musical Doubleheader
Due to popular demand, and thanks to the sponsorship of Helena Chemical, the Piggott Area Chamber of Commerce will host two nights of top-notch musical entertainment next weekend. Thanks to the collaboration, both the Rhode's Show and the Ultimate Oldies Show will be presented at the PHS middle gym.
The Rhodes Show will be staged beginning at 7 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 22 while the Ultimate Oldies will be presented at 7 p.m. the following night, Saturday, Nov. 23.
Tickets are $15 for adults, and $8 for children age 12 and under, and one ticket is good for admission to both shows. "Each ticket is good for admission to either of the shows, or both," noted chamber secretary Jan Glover. "You can attend either of the two evenings, or both if you choose, with one ticket-it's a great value and we're thankful to Helena Chemical for making it all possible."
Providing assistance in underwriting the effort through Helena Chemical are corporate sponsors Monsanto, Pioneer, Progeny, Bayer, Syngenta and BASF.
The first evening, on Friday, Nov 22, will feature the Rhodes Show, an entertainment staple in the region for decades. With a cast featuring sisters, and stars, Donna and Sandra Rhodes and longtime show member Brenda Barnett, the show is a popular offering of music, comedy and variety. Also performing will be Piggott native Craig Morris, a standout Nashville talent in his own right and husband of Donna Rhodes.
The talented members of the show have performed in world-famous venues, and during their careers have shared the stage with country, rock and pop legends.
The following night, on Saturday, Nov. 23, an ensemble cast, which includes Craig and Donna Morris, will be staging the Ultimate Oldies Show at the same location. The show features a distinct blend of old-time rock and roll, rhythm and blues and even soul standards and has proved to be crowd favorite for all ages.
Advance tickets are now on sale at the Piggott Area Chamber of Commerce office in the depot building, and tickets will be available at the door. Those wanting more information may call the chamber office in the depot building at 870 598-3167.
