Louis Conyers, 77, of Pollard, Ark., passed away Tuesday, November 12, 2013, at his home surrounded by his family and friends.
He was born on August 31, 1936 on the Bell Ann Plantation near Pollard, Ark., and was the son of the late Raymond and Millie (Causey) Conyers.
He was married to his loving wife, Loretta Scally, on Dec. 12, 1957.
He was member of New Hope Missionary Baptist Church in Pollard, Ark.
He was preceded in death by his parents, four brothers: Teddy, David, R. L. and Odell; two sisters: Goldie Cooper of McDougal and Myrtle Baine of Michigan, and one grandson Joshua.
He is survived by his wife: Loretta Conyers; six children: Debra and Roger Severs of Poplar Bluff Mo., Raymon and Gina Conyers of Pollard, Ark., Theodore Conyers of Pollard, Ark., Melissa and Leroy Meadows of Pollard, Ark., Bonetta and Calvin Fowler of Qulin, Mo. and Media Marie and Tim Welty of Qulin, Mo.; one sister: Bonnie Garver of Pollard, Ark., one brother: Rawleigh Conyers of Jonesboro, Ark.; 10 grandchildren: Phillip Tibbs, Valorie Webster, Raymon Louis Conyers, Dillion Conyers, Nathan Conyers, Andrew Conyers, Angela Fowler, Gregory Fowler, Lee Welty and Aaron Welty; seven great-grandchildren, two step-grandsons and a host of nieces, nephews and friends.
Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. on Friday, Nov. 15, 2013, in the Hoggard ande Sons Chapel, with Loy Culver and Randy Huddleston officiating. Burial was in New Hope Cemetery in Pollard, Ark. Hoggard and Sons Funeral Home of Piggott, Ark., was in charge of the arrangements. Visitation was held beginning at 5 p.m. on Thursday, Nov. 14 at Hoggard and Sons Funeral Home with a Masonic Services held at 7 p.m.
