Ruth Harmon, 97, of Piggott, Ark., passed away Wednesday, November 20, 2013, at the General Baptist Nursing Home in Piggott, Ark.
She was born on June 4, 1916, in Greenway, Ark., and was the daughter of the late Henry Thomas and Cora (Mason) Harvill.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Marion Thomas Harmon; one son, Kenneth Howard Harmon; and one daughter, Bonnie Todd; one brother, and two sisters.
Survivors include her children: Inez and Howard Pierce of St. Louis, Mo., Wanda Lou and Bill Wade of GoldBar, Wash., Maxine and W. A. Pace of Hernando, Fla., John and Henrietta Harmon of Piggott, Ark. and Bernice and Van Wiseman of Piggott, Ark.; sixteen grandchildren; one half-sister, Vada Pulley of Michigan and a host of other relatives and friends.
Funeral services were held at 1 p.m. Friday, Nov. 22, 2013, in the Hoggard and Sons Chapel with Charles Carrens officiating. Burial was in Mitchell Cemetery in Greenway, Ark. Pallbearers were her grandsons.
Hoggard and Sons Funeral Home of Piggott, Ark., was in charge of the arrangements. Visitation was held beginning at 11 a.m. Friday, prior to the service, at the funeral home.
