Doyne Leon Holifield
Doyne Leon Holifield, 69, of Pollard, Ark., passed away Friday, November 22, 2013, at his home.
He was born September 11, 1944, in Pollard, Ark., and was the son of the late Loran and Edith (Kirk) Holifield.
Doyne was one of the best farmers and many people looked up to him because of the quality of his crops. He was a longtime member of the Clay County Quorum Court and was a Pollard Volunteer Firefighter. Doyne enjoyed camping and being with people.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Darrell Holifield.
Survivors include his wife, Pat Holifield of the home; four children: Lee Holifield and wife Teresa of Pollard, Ark., Jennifer Raspberry and husband Richard of Piggott, Ark., Patrick Day and wife Sondra of Pollard, Ark., Rebecca Bricker and husband Neil of Pollard, Ark.; grandchildren: Nicole and Kevin Beirne, Austin Raspberry and Bethany Raspberry, Adam Shaw, Adam Singleterry and Kaitlyn Cate; great grandson, Hayden Shaw; two sisters Loretta Holifield of Pollard, Ark. and Vondala Underwood of Paragould, Ark. and many other relatives and friends.
Funeral services were held at 3 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 23, 2013, in the Hoggard and Sons Chapel with Bro. Kim Bridges officiating. Burial was in New Hope Cemetery in Pollard, Ark. Pallbearers were John Brawner, Luke Yount, Kerry Wilson, Sonny Johnson, Adam Singleterry and Austin Raspberry. Honorary pallbearers were Nick and John Yount.
Hoggard and Son Funeral Home of Piggott, Ark., was in charge of the arrangements. Visitation was held beginning at 1 p.m. Saturday, and continued until the time of the service at the funeral home.
