Bro. Gene Dixon
Bro. Gene Dixon, 69, of Gosnell, Ark., passed from this life to enter the Pearly Gates on Wednesday, November 27, 2013 at Flo and Phil Jones Hospice House in Jonesboro, Ark.
Born in New Orleans, La., to Q.T. and Margaret (Mouton) Dixon, he was a retired minister and a member of Calvary Baptist Church in Blytheville. He was a dedicated Sunday School Teacher and mentor. He loved his dogs, Coco and Michie, airplanes and Mexican and Cajun food. He enjoyed life, witnessing and helping others. He was an influence to so many because of his love of others and his unique style of preaching.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Terri Michie Dixon.
Bro. Gene is survived by his daughter, Lisa (Dixon) Johnson of Gosnell, Ark.; a son, Timothy Gene Dixon of Blytheville, Ark.; a grandson, Joshua Scott Johnson; a brother, Tom Dixon and wife, Linda of Bella Vista, Ark.; sisters, Linda Householder and husband, Bob of Jonesboro, Ark. and Bette Sheofee and husband, Bill of Broken Arrow, Okla. and a host of step-daughters, step-family and many special friends of Calvary Baptist, who he loved and admired.
Funeral services were held at 10 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 30, 2013 in Cobb Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Rick Robbins and Rev. Jim Russell officiating. Burial will be private. The family received friends beginning at 9 a.m. and continuing until the time of the service Saturday morning at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made to Calvary Baptist Church of Blytheville, Ark.
