Wayne Delaney, 76 of Rector, formerly of Wisconsin, passed away Dec. 7, 2013, at the St. Bernard's Medical Center. He was born July 16, 1937, to John and Ella (Nelson) Delaney in Ontario, Wisc.
Wayne served in the U.S. Army. He owned Area Glass Company and Wayne's Home Improvement and was a handyman and helped out greatly at the Rector Community Center. He was also a diehard Packers fan and loved playing cards with his "special cousins" Ron and Bev.
He is survived by his wife, Karen L. (Reck) Delaney, who he married on July 26, 1968. He also is survived by two brothers and their wives, Richard (Charlotte) Delaney and Larry (Darlene) Delaney, both of Bristol, Wisc.; many nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends; along with his special children, Jackie, Kevin and Aaron and his God-son, Brian, who he was so very proud of, and last but not least, Moe, his sidekick.
Preceding him in death was his parents; his brothers, John, Lyle, Wallace, Clayton and Donald and a sister, Lavonne Kay.
Visitation will begin at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 11, 2013, at the Irby Funeral Home in Rector. The funeral service will begin at 1 p.m. at the funeral home with Aaron Neugebauer officiating. Interment will be at the Woodland Heights Cemetery.
