Local Teen to Compete at State Level

Colby-Shaye Lynch of Greenway, daughter of Bryan and Angel Lynch, has been selected to participate in the 2014 Miss Arkansas USA/Teen USA Pageant. The pageant will be held Jan. 10 to 12 in Bentonville, Ark.

Colby will be competing as Miss Clay County Teen USA, and will take part in the swimsuit, evening gown and personal interview competitions. The pageant is comprised of two age divisions, and the winners will go on to represent Arkansas in the 2014 Miss USA and Miss Teen USA pageants.

The Miss USA Pageant system stresses good morals, physical fitness, communication skills, social awareness and community involvement.

Colby is a sophomore at Rector High School. She is a member of the Lady Cougar basketball and softball teams and is also active as a member of Student Council, National Honors Society, Cougars are Bad along with the math and science clubs.

She attends Hopewell Missionary Baptist Church in Rector.
