Tragic Crash Claims Life of Piggott Woman

A tragic two-vehicle accident Monday, Jan. 30 claimed the life of a Piggott woman. Penny Poole, 42, of Piggott died from her injuries while being airlifted to Memphis for treatment following an accident on Highway 49 north of Halliday.

Poole's daughter, Casey, a passenger in the vehicle, was airlifted to a local hospital for the treatment of less severe injuries. Another passenger in the vehicle, Justin McMillen of Piggott, was not injured, according to the Arkansas State Police report of the accident.

Rameca Milburn Harrington, 17, of Paragould, the driver and sole occupant of the other vehicle, was also reported as injured in the wreck.

According to the ASP report, the accident occurred at approximately 6:15 p.m. when Poole's 2008 GMC Envoy crossed the center line while travelling north, striking Harrington's 2006 Dodge SRX, which was traveling south.
