PHS Marks Basketball Homecoming

Piggott High School marked basketball homecoming Friday, Jan. 10. During the mid-morning royalty assembly this year's homecoming court was introduced to the student body, along with their escorts and attendants.

The court was also introduced Friday evening, prior to the senior high basketball game with Earle, in the PHS gym. The Tribe then went out and posted an exciting victory over the Bulldogs in the annual homecoming contest, delighting a large crowd.

This year's seventh grade maid was Laiken Boyd, daughter of Erma Campbell. She was escorted by Caleb Welborn. Eight grade maid was Allison Kilbreath, daughter of Marcus and Darla Kilbreath. Her escort was Jeff Meuir.

Chosen as freshmen maids were Jazzmyn Mills, granddaughter of Debbie and Kenneth Mills, and Jaessa Threatt, daughter of Jim and Stephanie Threatt. Jazzmyn was escorted by Noah May, while Logan Dixon escorted Jaessa for the occasion.

This year's sophomore maids were Faith Ann Moore, daughter of Gary Moore, Jr. and Angel Moore, and Jessica Arnell, daughter of Julie Taylor and Aaron Arnell. Jessica was escorted by Landon Williams and Faith Ann was escorted by Zach Moore.

Junior maids were McKenzie Hopkins, daughter of Melissa and Kerry Turner and Matt and Lisa Hopkins, and Sadie Sawyers, daughter of Chuck and Rachel Sawyers. McKenzie's escort for the occasion was Beau Jett while Sadie was escorted by Jacob Wellman.

Senior maid was Nancy Lemus, daughter of Mercedes and Maria Lemus, and she was escorted by Trevor Grubb. Senior maid of honor was Taylor Davis, daughter of Troy and Julie Banning. Her escorts were Nicholas Harris and Nick McKinnie.

The Lady Mohawk Basketball Beau was Will Jett, son of Robert and Stephanie Jett and Phillis Prince. He was escorted by Lady Mohawks Kacey Crossfield and Jessie Scheffler.

The queen's attendants were Zoie Reynolds and Charlie Reynolds, daughters of David and Ashley Reynolds.

And, this year's Mohawk basketball homecoming queen was Breanna Chandler, daughter of Rob Chandler and Lesa West. Her escorts for the occasion were Mohawks Austin Murray and Brayden Brewer.
