Jerry Caughron, 66, of Trumann, Ark., passed away Thursday, February 13, 2014 at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Memphis, Tenn. He was born August 18, 1947 in Keiser, Ark. to Lee Roy and Uva Mae Caughron. On Oct. 12, 1973 he married Virginia Jewell Calhoun and the union was blessed with five children.
He was of the Baptist faith, worked as a licensed master electrician and served 20 years in the Army National Guard. His hobbies included woodworking, carpentry, listening to music, playing the guitar and singing.
Preceding him in death were his parents and two brothers, Willie Ray Caughron and Curtis Wayne Caughron.
He is survived by his wife, Virginia Caughron of Trumann; two sons, Jeff (Leslie) Caughron of Jackson, Tenn. and Terry (Jo Carol) Caughron of Harrisburg; three daughters, Donna Carol (Greg) Cash of Trumann, KImberly Eidson (and fiancÚ' John Diller) of Trumann and Tammy (Mark) Taylor of Harrisburg; his grandchildren, Wade and Chad (Kelsey) Jones; Dylan and Taylor Eidson; Katie and Justin Smith; Lindsey, Clint, Jordan and Lela Caughron; Claire Cook; Reed and Avery Cash and Cody and Justin Peacock; two brothers, Jeff (Debbie) Caughron of Cherry Valley and Rick (Betty) Caughron of Harrisburg; two sisters, Trudy (Jerry) Griffith of Doniphan, Mo. and Sharon (Tom) Lillard of Cave City along with a host of other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 18, 2014 in the Ermert Funeral Home Chapel in Corning with Bro. Shawn Parker officiating. Burial will be in the Post Oak Cemetery at McDougal. Visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday, Feb. 17 at the funeral home.
