Winter Storm Titan Hammers Region

Monday, March 3, 2014
The snow which fell Sunday covered ice which had collected during the course of the day, hampering efforts to clean-up slick roadways.

Winter Storm Titan roared out of the plains states over the weekend, dropping several inches of ice and snow on Northeast Arkansas and much of the nation. East Clay County was left under a layer of frozen precipitation, but luckily power outages were few and far between--at least locally.

Residents in much of the region did lose power, with the Electric Cooperatives of Arkansas reporting about 8,000 without electricity as of Monday morning.

Extreme cold is forecast for Monday night, compounding the issue, although much warmer weather is in the forecast for late in the week.

The complete forecast, including local watches and warnings, may always be found here on the CCTD website.
