Pauline Graves Shields

Pauline Graves Shields, aged 101 years, passed from this life on Wednesday, March 12, 2014, at National Health Care in Kennett, Missouri. She was born on February 23, 1913, in Piggott to the late William and Laura (Knight) English. Pauline was full of life and loved a good smile. She was part of the garden club, women's club, and various quilting clubs.

Pauline was preceded in death by her parents; husbands, Wallace Graves, Homer Cherot and Amadee Shields; one son, James W. Graves; three sisters, Lee Marks, Willie Mae Roberts and Myrtle Berniece Sanders; four brothers, Albert English, Melvin English, Marvin English and Fred English and a grandson, Kim Graves.

Ms. Shields is survived by three grandchildren, Pam Graves Bronson and husband Steward of Memphis, Teresa Graves Frankel and husband John of Rector and Ginger Graves Sain and husband Gregg of Rector; seven great-grandchildren and six great-great-grandchildren, along with a host of other relatives and friends.

A celebration of life will be held at 11 a.m. March 14, 2014, at the First United Methodist Church in Rector with Rev. Mace Straubel and Rev. Judy Jeffries officiating. Interment will follow the service at Woodland Heights in Rector with Irby Funeral Home in charge of the arrangements. Honored to serve as pallbearers will be Gregg Sain, Johnny Frankel, Chase Sain, Nicholas Sain, Matt Mills and Steven Crancer.

Memorials may be sent to the First United Methodist Church of Rector or Rector Public Library.
