Norman "Pete" Watson, 88, of Corning, passed away Sun. March 16, 2014, at Corning Therapy and Living Center, in Corning. Mr. Watson was born in Crockett, on Sept. 30, 1925. He was a retired farmer and service station owner/operator. He enjoyed duck hunting, fishing and spending time with his grandchildren.

On Oct. 30, 1944, he married his wife of 64 years Roberta Lee (Baker) Watson, she preceded him in death on Nov.28, 2008.

He is survived by daughter-in-law, Patty Watson-Scheer of Corning; two grandsons, Chad (Kelli) Watson of Corning and Aaron (Danna) Watson of Corning; one brother, John (Lorane) Watson of Piggott; four sisters, Neva Hopper of Piggott, Myrtle (Bill) Satterfield of Ferguson, Mo., Shirley (Garland) Satterfield of St. Peters, Mo. and Shelba (Thavuis) Lewis of O'Fallen, Mo.; five great-grandchildren, Chase, Kelsey, Kenlie, Hannah and Daniel Watson; special nephew, Greg Watson of Franklin, Tenn.; caregiver, Ann Story and many other extended family members and friends.

He was preceded in death by his wife; his parents, Bert Lee, Sr. and Clara Belle (Allen) Watson; two sons, Jim and David Watson; four brothers, Ken, Bill, James and Bert Lee, Jr. Watson and one infant sister, Eva Watson.

Visitation will be Tues. March 18, at 12 p.m. in the Ermert Funeral Home in Corning. Funeral service will begin at 2 p.m. with Thavuis Lewis officiating. Burial will follow in the Corning Cemetery.
