The Mohawk diamond squads have seen very limited action in the past two weeks, but were hoping to get a couple of games in over the course of the next few days. The Lady Mohawks did get a conference win over cross-county Corning last week, while the baseball team continued to try to stay in shape until conditions improved.

Despite the recent rainy conditions, the Piggott Lady Mohawks did squeeze in a conference win on Thursday, April 3. The Tribe, behind a strong performance by freshman Grayson Murray, drummed their cross-county rivals by a final score of 6-1.

Murray drove in two of the Tribe's half-dozen runs with a big triple in the fourth inning, as the Mohawks notched the 3A-3 conference win.

With the victory the Lady Mohawks extend their record to 5-1 both overall and in conference play.

The Lady Mohawks were scheduled to visit Rivercrest on Thursday, April 10, and will host Walnut Ridge in non-conference play on Monday, April 14. They're slated to visit the Lady Lions at Manila on Thursday, April 17 and will visit Armorel's Lady Tigers for non-conference play on Monday, April 21. The Tribe will travel to Osceola on Tuesday, April 22 for a conference make-up game and will close out the 3A-3 schedule on Thursday, April 24 at Corning. The season finale will be played Tuesday, April 29 at Independence Park as the Lady Pirates of Gosnell are scheduled to visit.

Meanwhile, the spring of 2014 continues to be the biggest foe of the Mohawk baseball team, as the squad has repeatedly had games postponed or cancelled due to conditions.

The Tribe was slated to take part in regular season action against Corning last week, and play in the Duel on the Diamond at Paragould, but all fell victim to rain.

Monday afternoon they were slated to take on the Manila Lions at Home, and Thursday the Osceola Seminole are scheduled to visit Independence Park for a conference double-header.

Other schedule changes and updates will be posted to the Mohawk Bullpen Club Facebook page and to cctimedemocrat.com
