Works of Jared Vaughn Featured at Art Show
The public is cordially invited to view the works of Jared Vaughn at an art show being held Friday, April 18 at Piggott State Bank. The art show will be going on from 5:30 to 7 p.m. in the lobby of the main bank, at 212 West Cherry Street in Piggott.
The art of Vaughn, a 2004 graduate of Piggott High School, has been featured in previous shows at Piggott State Bank. In fact, several of his works, commissioned by bank president and CEO Paula O. Blackwell, adorn the walls of the local facility.
Now a resident of Paragould, Vaughn continues to draw on his Piggott background for inspiration and many of his pieces reflect the history of the town.
Following his graduation from PHS, and thanks to the efforts of art teacher Jerri Tate, Vaughn was accepted to the Memphis College of Art. After four and a half years at the institution he acquired a degree in graphic design, but found the prospect of life behind a desk not to his liking.
As a result, he turned back to his own unique form of expression--which includes painting along with creating works of art with abstract items and re-purposed antiques. And, in the years since it has developed into a fulltime vocation as an appreciative following has developed.
