Lady Mohawk Devyn Staples delivers to a Hoxie batter in action from earlier this season. The talented sophomore struck out six in the Tribe's recent win over Manila, and went 3-for-4 at the plate.

The Piggott Lady Mohawks finally got back to action last week, notching a conference win over the Lady Lions at Manila. But, due to the rain Monday afternoon's contest was postponed--as many have been so far this season.

The Tribe visited the Lions on Thursday and posted their second win over Manila this season, this time taking a 6-2 decision.

Sophomore Devyn Staples continues to have a hot spring for the Lady Mohawks, pitching her way to the win. On the game she fanned six of the Lady Lion batters, and also went 3 for 4 at the plate to help her own cause.

Piggott freshman Grayson Murray also continues to have a good season, as she went 3 for 3 with two doubles and drove in 3 of the Mohawk runs on the game.

The Tribe was slated to take on Armorel on Monday in a non-conference game, and were scheduled to visit Osceola for a make-up game on Tuesday, April 22. They're slated to be on the road this Thursday, May 24 with a conference game at Corning.

With the win over Manila last week the Tribe extend their conference record to 6-2, and find themselves in good shape as the season begins to wind down.
