Samuel Wayne Bearden
Samuel Wayne Bearden, 68, of Piggott, Ark., passed away Wednesday, April 30, 2014, at his home.
He was born on December 31, 1945, in Jonesboro, Ark., and was the son of the late Winstead Samuel and Marcelle (German) Bearden.
He was united in marriage to June Greaney on March 2, 1985.
Sam spent over 40 years as a truck driver. He started out working for Jimmy and Gary Howell and in 1986 he bought his own truck under North American Van Lines.
He is survived by his wife June of Piggott, Ark.; a sister, Sally Howell and husband Gary of Piggott, Ark.; nieces and nephews: Jason Howell and son, Jackson; Jennifer Cook (Charlie) and sons, Garrett and Levi, and Julie Howell (Dave) and sons, Wes and Wyatt and many other relative and friends.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Saturday, May 3, 2014, in the Hoggard and Sons Chapel with Alan Vaughn officiating. Burial was in Woodland Heights Cemetery in Rector.
Pallbearers were Jason Howell, Mark Greaney, Gary Howell, Bill McHaffey, Frankie Faulk, Harold Dunlap, Monte Howell and Garrett Cook. Honorary pallbearers were Mike Greaney, Billy Frost, and William Martin Frost.
Hoggard and Sons Funeral Home of Piggott, Ark. was in charge of arrangements.
