Scheffler Recieves Statewide Award
Bradley Scheffler, representing the Piggott water/wastewater department, was named the Water Works Manager of the Year on Tuesday, April 29. The recognition was handed out during the Arkansas Water Works and Water Environment Association (AWW&WEA) convention, held in Hot Springs.
Scheffler serves the city of Piggott as water/wastewater manager, and oversees an operation which serves about 4,000 customers. He has worked in the water/wastewater industry for 30 years and has been with the City of Piggott since 1985. His father, Jim Scheffler, also served in the same capacity.
In addition to his duties with the City of Piggott, he also works part-time with the City of St. Francis and had previously worked part-time for the City of Pollard, to provide his expertise to the systems of both cities.
Additional recognition from the AWW&WEA has also been afforded to Scheffler in the past for his dedication to the industry, including several nominations for his performance and professionalism in serving special water/wastewater system--as well as receiving the Outstanding Achievement award on numerous occasions.
As a longtime and active member of the community, Scheffler has also served for 28 years as a member of the Piggott Fire Department, the past 10 as chief. In 2011 he was also recognized as "Firefighter of the Year."
