Lola Wright Risener
Lola Wright Risener entered this world on October 2, 1924, in Sharp County, Arkansas, and departed for the place in heaven prepared for her on Wednesday, May 7, 2014, in Shawnee, Kansas. The daughter of Valley and Rhoda Wright, she was the sister to ten brothers and three sisters. All have preceded her in death, except for her youngest brother, Dr. Winfred Wright of Searcy. As the devoted wife of Othur Risener she was the dear mother of two sons, Randal Risener and Stanley Risener of Shawnee, Kansas. Both her husband and oldest son have also preceded her in death. In addition to her son Stanley Risener and daughter in-law Kathy Teson, she leaves behind two granddaughters, Leslie Okoye of Prairie Village, Kansas, and Leah Risener of Overland Park, Kansas. Two great-granddaughters, Violet Okoye and Alice Okoye, will cherish the memory of their great-grandmother.
Growing up in Clay County during the great depression, she became the eyes of her blind mother. The daughter of a pulpit minister, she remained faithful to the Lord and an active member of the churches of Christ. Dedicated to her family, she worked fulltime as a homemaker and caretaker for her mother after the death of her father. While she lived most of her adult life in St. Charles County, Mo., it was Piggott that she always considered home.
Visitation was held at Irby Funeral Home in Piggott on Sunday, May 11, 2014, followed by a brief memorial service. Burial followed at the Piggott Cemetery, next to her husband.
