A group of 18 Piggott Elementary School fourth grade students recently completed the Young Authors 2014 program at the Hemingway-Pfeiffer Educational Center.

The participating students were recommended by their teachers, and took part in the four-week after school program on Wednesdays from March 27 to April 17.

Upon completion of the program each of the students received a spiral bound collection of their original stories, compiled during the course of the effort.

Serving as instructor for the group was Adam Long, director of the local museum. "This was really a great group of young writers," he said of the experience. "I was impressed with their level of creativity."
