Roping Event to Feature Local Duo
Fans of local team ropers Ty Haney, of Rector, and Ethan Murray, of Piggott, will have the chance to watch the talented youngsters this weekend, as they're slated to take part in the SPC Steven Tyler Redmon Memorial Roping event at the fairgrounds in Piggott.
In last week's story on the success of the local team ropers at the Kentucky State High School Finals Rodeo, the list of Haney's sponsors was inadvertently omitted.
Haney offered his thanks to Glen Sain Motors, Duncan Chiropractic, Alley Auto, Weaver Transmission, Hollis Quarterhorses, Rector Realty--and most importantly, to God, for their support of his efforts this year.
Murray and Haney will be in action Saturday at the roping event at the fairgrounds in Piggott. Then, in July they'll be off to the 66th annual National High School Finals Rodeo, set for July 13 to 19 in Rock Springs, Wyo.
The talented duo earned the trip to the NHSFR by taking third in the Kentucky statewide rodeo last weekend.
Haney will be a junior at Rector High School this fall, while Murray will be a junior at PHS. Supporters of the duo are also currently planning fundraisers to help defray the costs of the trip to the Nationals, and information on those events will be available soon.
