Edward Lee Holifield
Edward Lee Holifield, age 80, of Lockney, Tex., passed away, Saturday, June 21, 2014, in Lockney. Funeral services will be conducted at 9 a.m., Tuesday, June 24, 2014 at the Lockney Cemetery with Kyle Brock officiating. Arrangements are under the care of Moore-Rose Funeral Home in Lockney.
Edward was born on November 1, 1933 in Piggott, Ark., to Earlee and Grace (Mowery) Holifield. He married Beverly Norman on May 29, 1957. Edward was a member of Wrights Chapel Methodist Church of Piggott, and was a veteran of the United States Army. He attended the University of Arkansas at Fayetteville, where he obtained a Master's degree in agronomy. His work career was with the University of Arkansas Extension Service in Arkansas and with the Upjohn Chemical Company in Colonel Heights, Va. before retiring in Piggott.
He is survived by his wife, Beverly Holifield of Lockney; one brother, William Holifield of Mesa, Ariz.; his cousins; sister-in-laws, Lynon Preston of Austin, Gleynn Earle Cummings and husband Sterling Cummings of South Plains and Kay Hall of Hereford along with multiple nieces and nephews.
