Mohawk Football Practice Schedule Set

Practice for the Piggott Mohawk football teams is scheduled to get underway Monday, Aug. 4. The senior high team is scheduled to begin their pre-season conditioning with practice set to begin at 7 a.m. Meanwhile, the junior Mohawks will gather at 6 p.m. on Monday evening, as their practice scheduled gets underway.

This year the Tribe gets a new head coach, as long time assistant Michael Harrell has taken over the program.

The senior squad will begin their campaign on Friday, Sept. 5, with a non-conference game at Marked Tree. The following week they'll host the Portageville Bulldogs at Parker Field, for the final non-conference tune-up.

The Tribe has an open date in week three, as they'll be idle on Friday, Sept. 19 and will begin the conference campaign at home against Osceola on Sept. 26.

They'll visit Rivercrest on Oct. 3, travel to Cedar Ridge on Oct. 10, and will host Melbourne's Bearkatz on Oct. 17. The Mohawks will visit Manila on Oct. 24, and will then close out the season with two home games--as the Hoxie Mustangs will visit on Oct. 31, and the season finale will be played at home against Corning on Thursday, Nov. 6.

The junior Mohawks will begin their season at non-conference Westside on Sept. 4, and will host Paragould the following Thursday. The remaining schedule includes trips to Corning and Osceola, home games against Rivercrest and Cedar Ridge, a trip to Melbourne, a home contest against Manila and the finale at Hoxie on Oct. 30.
