Tribe Fall Teams Prep

Practice for the Piggott Mohawk football teams got underway Monday, Aug. 4. In the days since, the senior high team has been gathering at 7 a.m. Meanwhile, the junior Mohawks began their practice schedule Monday evening, and have been gathering at 6 p.m.

The senior squad will begin their campaign on Friday, Sept. 5, with a non-conference game at Marked Tree. The following week, on Friday, Sept. 12, they'll host the Portageville Bulldogs at Parker Field, for the final non-conference tune-up.

The junior Mohawks will begin their season at non-conference Westside on Sept. 4, as they visit the Warriors. And, they're slated to host Paragould the following Thursday in the home opener at Parker Field.

Meanwhile, the Lady Mohawk volleyball team is back in the gym as they prepare for their upcoming season. Also preparing for action in the 3A-3 conference are the Mohawk tennis teams, under long time coach Paul Seegraves, and the PHS golf squads, under coach Alan Rabjohn.

A community pep rally to mark the start of the new school year, and Mohawk fall sports seasons, will be held beginning at 6:30 p.m. on Monday, Aug. 25 in the PHS gym.
