Mary Monedith Simpson
Mary Monedith Simpson, 93, passed away August 6, 2014, at the General Baptist Nursing Home in Campbell, Mo.
She was born in Piggott, Ark., on March 26, 1921, and was the daughter of the late Albert E. and Hallie (McGehee) Stallings.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her brothers, Clyde 'Poker' Stallings, Sherril Stallings, Gene Stallings and Lester Stallings; and her sisters, Freida Underwood, Louise Holcomb, Lucille Stewart and Ruby Martz. She was also preceded in death by her first husband, Loyd Wright, and second husband, R.A. Simpson.
Survivors include her sister, Marguerite Swift; her daughters, Robin Wawryznski and Sharon Simmons; her granddaughters, Tracy Phillips, Rebecca Goldthwait, Jennifer Mobley and Amy Wawryznski; two great-grandsons, Samuel Phillips and Zachary Faulkner and many other relatives and friends.
Throughout her life, she lived in San Diego, Calif., Casa Grande, Ariz. and Piggott, Ark. While living in Piggott, she worked for the school district for many years and served as City Clerk.
A graveside service was held Sunday, Aug. 10, 2014 at the Piggott Cemetery. Hoggard and Sons Funeral Home of Piggott, Ark., was in charge of the arrangements.
