Anticipation is high as the 73rd annual Rector Labor Day Picnic and its surrounding events rapidly approach. The annual celebration has grown to encompass the entire four day weekend, with a variety of attractions and events planned throughout the community.

Picnic chairman Nathan Henderson and a lengthy list of volunteers have been working hard to organize yet another popular, fun-filled Labor Day weekend in Rector.

First held in 1941, the Labor Day Picnic has for years provided funds for maintenance of Rector's beautiful Woodland Heights Cemetery, located on the scenic hills of Crowley's Ridge northwest of town.
