Tribe Falls at Marked Tree

The Mohawk defense at Marked Tree

The Piggott Mohawks fell at Marked Tree Friday, Sept. 5, by a score of 28-16. The contest, the first under new head coach Michael Harrell, centered on missed chances for the Tribe as they failed to score from inside the five yard line on three different drives.

But, the Mohawks at times showed the speed and skill they're known to possess, and are likely to improve each week.

Friday night the Tribe will open their home season, and complete non-conference play, as they host the Portageville Bulldogs at Parker Field. Friday night the previously unbeaten Bulldogs were pounded by the Malden Greenwave 54-7.

Kickoff is set for 7 p.m. Friday night. And, the complete game report and stats for the Marked Tree contest may be found in the Sept. 10, edition of the CCTD.
