Travis Boyd, 70, of Piggott, Ark., was born on July 16, 1944, and was the son of the late Clyde and Ella (Smith) Boyd of Knobel, Ark.
Travis went to be with his Lord on Tuesday, September 9, 2014, at the Flo and Phil Jones Hospice House in Jonesboro, Ark.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Clyde and Ella Boyd; his brother, Conrad Boyd; two sisters-in-law; one niece and one nephew.
Travis leaves behind his wife of 50 years, Carolyn; his daughter, Teresa (Johnny) McKenney of Bono, Ark.; his son, Tim (Brande) Boyd and four special grandchildren: Cameo Forehand and Holly, Luke and Natalie Boyd. Travis also left behind his devoted brothers, Norris Boyd of Knobel, Ark., Cleitus (Pat) Boyd of Corning, Ark., James Boyd, and Neil (Polly) Boyd of Georgia along with many other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be held at 12:00 noon on Saturday, Sept. 13, 2014, at in the New Hope Baptist Church with Greg Rainwater and Loy Culver officiating. Burial is in New Hope Cemetery. Pallbearers are Gary Boyd, Lee Boyd, Joe Boyd, Glendal Boyd, John Dover and Kevin Hardin. Honorary pallbearers are John Brawner, Gary Howell, Tommy Hardcastle and Dan Gossett. Hoggard and Sons Funeral Home of Piggott, Ark., is in charge of the arrangements. Visitation will be held beginning at 10 a.m. Saturday, and continue until the time of the service at the church.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations may be made to the New Hope Cemetery Association or the Flo and Phil Jones Hospice House in Jonesboro, Ark.
