Both the local junior high teams fell in action Thursday night on their home fields, meanwhile the Lady Mohawk volleyball teams split as the senior squad continues to roll. And, the Mohawk tennis team was in action, also against Paragould.

The Junior Mohawks dropped a squeaker to the Paragould Junior Rams by a final of 8-6. Meanwhile, the Junior Cougars fell to Walnut Ridge at Temerian Field by a final of 16-0.

Other regional junior high scores included Pocahontas over Corning 40-8 and Westside past Hoxie 30-6.

The senior teams will both be in action tonight, with the Mohawks opening their home schedule against the Portageville Bulldogs while the Cougars visit the Timberwolves of Cedar Ridge.

Meanwhile, the Lady Mohawks visited Ridgefield Christian for conference volleyball play and split on the day. The senior squad kept their regular season, and conference schedule, spotless with a win in straight games--25-9, 26-16 and 25-5. In the earlier match the Junior Lady Mohawks fell to their hosts 25-15 and 25-21.

The senior squad is off to Harrison this weekend to take part in a tournament, and all squads will be back in action Tuesday, Sept. 16, as they visit Hoxie in conference play.

And, the Mohawk tennis teams split with Paragould Thursday afternoon at the public courts in Piggott. The girls dropped their match 1-4, as they move to 4-3 on the season. Meanwhile, the boy's team romped 5-1 over the Rams and move to 5-1 on the season.

They're slated to take on Nettleton and Highland in non-conference play on Tuesday, Sept. 16, at Jonesboro.

And, the Mohawk golf team will also be in action on Tuesday, Sept. 16, at Thunder Bayou at Blytheville.
