Mohawks Beat Bulldogs, Cougars Fall at Cedar Ridge

Saturday, September 13, 2014
The Mohawks take to their home field for the first time this season, as they prepared to take on the Portageville Bulldogs.

The Piggott Mohawks opened their home schedule with a come-from-behind 30-21 win over the Portageville Bulldogs on Friday night. The Tribe put on a strong performance on both sides of the football in giving new head coach Michael Harrell his first win--and, in front of a large home crowd.

Meanwhile, the Rector Cougars were on the road at 3A Cedar Ridge on Friday evening and came up on the short end of a 36-16 decision to the Timberwolves.

Both teams are idle for week three, on Friday, Sept. 19, and will return to action on Sept. 26, with the Cougars on the road at Walnut Ridge and the Mohawks hosting the Seminole of Osceola.
