Martin Dean Poole
Martin Dean Poole, 71, of Pocahontas, Ark., passed away September 17, 2014, at St. Vincent's Hospital in Little Rock, Ark.
He was born on December 2, 1942, in Washington, D.C., and was the son of the late Ralph Poole and Gaye (Grooms) Poole.
He is preceded in death by his parents and two sons, Marty Poole and Danny Poole.
Dean was baptized at a young age in the St. Francis Baptist Church. He served seven years with the National Guard and was retired from Entergy. After retirement, he started a hydraulic and welding shop in Pocahontas.
Survivors include his wife, Sharron Cason Poole of Pocahontas, Ark.; a son, Wade Poole and wife Sherry of Hernando, Miss.; a daughter, Mikki Speed of Davidson, N.C.; the mother to his four children, Mary Ann Ort; four grandchildren, Taylor Crawley of Memphis, Tenn., Jeri Poole of Walnut Ridge, Ark., Dale Poole of Hernando, Miss. and Summer Nicole Ungerank of Pocahontas, Ark.; a brother, Max Poole and wife Billie Sue of Piggott, Ark.; a sister, Julia Crews of Pensacola, Fla.; a special aunt, Bronnie Pardon of Malakoff, Tex. and many other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be held at 12:00 noon on Friday, Sept. 19, 2014, in the Hoggard and Sons Chapel with Kevin Murray officiating. Burial is in Gravel Hill Cemetery in St. Francis, Ark. Pallbearers are Colton Poole, Gaylon Shepherd, Beau Wicker, Taylor Crawley and Geryane Poole. Hoggard and Sons Funeral Home of Piggott, Arkansas, is in charge of the arrangements. Visitation will be held beginning at 10 a.m. and continue until the time of the service at the funeral home.
