Caleb Welborn (10) sets the block as Piggott's Landon Williams carries the ball in Friday night's home loss to Osceola. Williams was the man for the Tribe offense on the night, carrying for over 100 yards and scoring the lone TD and two-point conversion.

Both the Piggott Mohawks and the Rector Cougars fell in conference play on Friday, Sept. 26. The RHS squad traveled to Walnut Ridge and was shut-out by the Bobcats, 38-0. Meanwhile, the Mohawks turned the ball over four times in a 34-8 home loss to Osceola.

In 3-3A action Rivercrest outlasted Corning 47-30 in a game played at Wilson, Melbourne pounded Manila 41-8, and Hoxie manhandled Cedar Ridge by a final of 42-6.

In the 3-2A it was a night of shut-outs, as not only were the Cougars blanked but Cross County shut out Marked Tree 30-0, Earle shut out Midland 66-02 and EPC pitched a shut out against Salem as well, beating the Greyhounds 58-0.

This coming Friday, Oct. 3, the Cougars will visit Salem while the Mohawks will be on the road at Rivercrest.
