Deadline Friday for Chamber Tickets
The deadline is Friday for purchasing tickets for the 2014 Piggott Area Chamber of Commerce membership and awards banquet. This year's banquet will be held at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 14, at the Piggott Community Center.
Tickets for the annual banquet are on sale at a cost of $22 each, and must be purchased in advance. The tickets will be available through 4:30 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 3, at the chamber office in the depot.
The theme for this year's banquet is "Promote Your Business," and all members are also encouraged to participate in the annual table decorating contest.
During the annual dinner meeting of the chamber membership a variety of awards will also be handed out to members of the community. Those will include the annual "You Made It Happen" award, the smile award, educator of the year, outstanding local farmer of the year, outstanding emergency personnel of the year, volunteer of the year, organization of the year, the youth award, the beautification award and the coveted "Taste of Piggott" award.
The annual banquet will also include the popular silent auction, and donations are currently being accepted. "We've already gotten some really good items for this year's silent auction," noted chamber secretary Jan Glover. "We hope everyone will get their tickets and make plans to attend--there are a lot of wonderful items to bid on in addition to a great meal."
