Roberts Edges Rahn In School Board Runoff

Tuesday, October 7, 2014

Turnout was fair for the Piggott School Board runoff election, held Tuesday, Oct. 7. In balloting in September Jennifer Rahn and Chris Roberts received the most votes of the three candidates running for the seat, but neither was able to garner a majority forcing a runoff.

Tuesday there were a total of 412 votes cast, as Roberts received 213 votes while Rahn polled 199.

In early voting it was Rahn with 85 and Roberts with 82, while Roberts also received one absentee vote. At the polls on Tuesday Roberts received 130 votes while Rahn got 114 to set the final.

Roberts will now serve a five year term on the Piggott School Board, replacing Julie McMillon, who chose not to seek re-election after serving one term.
