Vivan Rudolph Jones

Vivan Rudolph Jones, 91, of Rector, died Friday, Nov. 28, 2014, at Piggott Community Hospital.

An Army veteran of WWII, he was born May 28, 1923, in Clay County. Mr. Jones was a retired farmer and of the Baptist faith.

Survivors include his wife, Wanda Jones of the home; one son, Larry (Beverly) Jones of Ocala, Fla.; two daughters, Lanita (Earl) Presson of Huntsville, Ala., and Patricia (Mike) Patterson of Piggott. He is also survived by six grandchildren, Patrice Bolling, Lindsay Jones, Amber Knotts, Travis Presson, Christina Presson and Patrick Patterson; and by four great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Thurman and Ola Jones; an infant son, Narvie Jones, and one sister, Iva Mae Smith.

Funeral services were conducted Sunday, Nov.30, at the Mitchell Funeral Home Chapel in Rector, with Duane Dutka officiating. Burial followed in Mitchell Cemetery in Greenway.
