Cougars Beat Bobcats, Fall to Mustangs
Rector's Lawson Ford stopped his dribble and elevated for a 15-foot jumper, launching the ball as the final horn sounded in the Cougars' meeting with the hosting Walnut Ridge Bobcats Friday night. The last second shot, which came on a broken play, sailed true, giving Rector a thrilling 58-56 victory on the night.
"That was a big shot; huge," RHS coach Matt Mills said of the bucket. "It's not the way we drew it up, but we'll take it, that's for sure."
Senior Nick Hardin had a big night for the Cougars, netting a game-best 25 points in the victory, including seven treys.
