James Carrol Reed
James Carrol Reed was born on August 12, 1936, to James A. Reed and Clennie Opal (Higdon) Reed of Pollard, Ark., and passed away on February 2, 2015 at the Harry S. Truman VA Hospital in Columbia, Mo.
Carrol, as most people knew him by, enlisted in the Air Force on Oct 7, 1956. He served this great country until Nov. 25, 1960. While on a Christmas leave in 1957, Carroll met a beautiful strawberry blond, Naomi Faye Green, and in February 1958 they were united in marriage. To this union three children were born: Pameula Christene, Ricky Carrol and Perry Greg.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Naomi; his daughter, Pameula and son Ricky.
In February 2012 Carrol was united in marriage to Carolyn Sue John.
Carrol was a very faithful member of the Lord's Church and attended Fairground's Road Church of Christ in Jefferson City, Mo.
Survivors include, his wife Carolyn Sue of the home; one son, Perry Greg and wife Alice Reed of Piggott, Ark.; two granddaughters, Heather Scudder and husband Tyler of Paragould and Alison Reed of Piggott; one brother Lavern Reed and wife Marie of Corning; one sister, Joan Townsend of St. Louis; one step-son, Robert Brazell of Fulton Mo., two step-daughters, Angela Lloyd of Nixa, Mo. and Lynette Hubert of Lee's Summit, Mo. and a host of other relatives and friends.
Funeral services were held at 1 p.m. on Thursday Feb. 5, 2015 in the South Thornton Church of Christ in Piggott, Arkansas. Burial was in New Hope Cemetery. Visitation began at 11 a.m. and continued until service time. Hoggard and Sons Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.
