The Piggott Junior Mohawks closed out their regular season last week, dropping games to Manila and Osceola in regular season play. Then, Monday evening the Tribe took on the Corning junior Bobcats in the first round of the 3A-3 junior district tournament at Osceola and posted a 50-39 win.

In their earlier game with Manila the Tribe fell 63-32, despite 11 points from Spencer Hardin, 9 from Elijah Bellers and another 6 from Trey Gossett. In the contest with the Seminole the Mohawks fell 66-24, with Hardin and Gossett contributing 7 points each in the loss.

Monday evening the Mohawks got 13 points from Dylan Bellers, and another 12 from Elijah Bellers, as they eliminated their cross-county rivals.

The win set-up a second round match-up set for Tuesday evening, as the Tribe was slated to take on the top-seeded Seminole of Osceola once again. A win would put them into the final, set for Thursday evening against the winner of the Manila-Rivercrest game.
